Behind the Design
AD89 is run by Alex Dascenzo, an artist whose inspirations stem from nature and community.
Born and raised in North Carolina, Alex has been holding a paintbrush since age six. Now, Alex has a Bachelor of Environmental Design in Architecture she received from North Carolina State University in 2022 and is hoping to grow in the artist community in Raleigh, NC.

Inspired by Loved Ones
Alex draws much of her inspiration for prints from the everyday objects and nature surrounding Raleigh, NC. However, AD89 greeting cards are inspired by and first created for a loved one in Alex's life. Whether it be a birthday, holiday, or any other celebration - there is always a story of love within the card.
Committed to Sustainability
AD89 aims to be an environmentally friendly business.
The innate durability of block printing allows a singular design to be used over and over again - whether it is for a batch of prints or is part of a larger design.
The main paper material used at AD89 is Lokta - a type of handmade paper, traditionally from Nepal, made using the bark of the quickly-regenerating lokta bush.
